{"id":915,"date":"2013-07-08T15:40:40","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T00:40:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.realchange.org\/taoish\/?p=915"},"modified":"2013-07-08T15:43:16","modified_gmt":"2013-07-09T00:43:16","slug":"still-a-fool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.realchange.org\/taoish\/still-a-fool\/","title":{"rendered":"Still A Fool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Something a little different &#8212; I&#8217;m going to trace back several versions of a favorite blues song, known alternately as &#8220;Still a Fool,&#8221; &#8220;Catfish Blues,&#8221; and &#8220;Rolling Stone.&#8221;  Muddy Waters had the most famous version with the last of those versions, the song that gave the Rolling Stones their name. He released both &#8220;Rolling Stone&#8221; and &#8220;Still A Fool,&#8221; which are very similar but significantly different; the former is just him on guitar, the latter a band featuring the criminally underrated Willie Dixon.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m going to show this evolution backwards, starting with the Stones&#8217; 1968 (unreleased) cover of Still A Fool.  You know a song&#8217;s great when every single version of it kicks ass.
